Kulay pula yung balot nito.
3. WONDERBOY - Kulay puti yata yung balot nito; flat na chichirya, malutong at maalat din.
4. LITSONG MANOK - masarap iulam sa kanin pag madaming MSG! Haha! Rectangular shaped ito na lasang chicken. May kulay red, yellow at green ang balot nito.
5. BASTA PINOY - hmmm...nakain ko na to pero nakalimutan ko na itsura.
6. CHEESE RINGS - Buhay pa din hanggang ngayon! Classic junk food to! Cheese flavor na korteng malalaking rings. Kasya din sa daliri to.

7. SNACKU - Naalala niyo pa ba yung mga palabas sa channel 13 dati? Yung shaider, bioman o takeshi's castle? Isa ito sa mga kino-commercial dun. Sticks to na kulay green, lasang vegatables kuno. Green din ang balot.
8. CHEEZ-IT - Yung kulay dilaw na balot na may daga na naglalambitin. Parang letter H yung korte nito. Cheese flavored din.

14. RICHEE - Milk flavored na korteng H. Kasabayan to ng Cheez-it.
15. SWEET CORN - Classic din! Bilog bilog na lasang mais. Isa sa mga maaalat na chichirya. Masarap tong dinudurog! Kaya lang yung mga Sweet Corn ngayon(na nabibili ng piso piso), wala nang lasa gaano..
16. LUMPIA/CHEESE DOG - Favorite ko to! Hanggang ngayon, bumibili ako ng maramihan. Parang lumpia ang korte na cheese flavor; pero puro hangin ang laman! Hehe! Minsan nga lang makakatsamba ka ng medyo maalat. Yun ang pinaka masarap!
17. SQUID RINGS - Parang cheese rings din ata to. Di ko kasi gaanong nakahiligan to.
18. CLOVER CHIPS - Classic! Hanggang ngayon buhay pa! May iba ibang flavor to - barbeque. cheese! Meron ding Clover Bits!

(Segue lang) Hindi ba kayo nagtataka na madalas flavor ng mga chichirya e cheese?
At dumako naman tayo sa mga matatamis; mga candy, bubble gum at iba pa!

A Really Rainy Weekend with Ondoy - Part 2

There's so much left to say on this story. But I think it's time to leave it to history and let it go.

A Really Rainy Weekend with Ondoy - A Story Part 1

It's been two weeks since Ondoy struck the country with its wrath. And look at the devastation it caused! In a short span of time, the entire Manila (most of it) was submerged in water. The storm caused massive property damage and lives were lost; not only with the flood victims, but some of the volunteer rescuers as well. PAGASA noted that Ketsana (international name of Ondoy) bought 13.43 inches of rain in the six hours between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. local time, which is equivalent to about a month's worth of rain for the area.

I can say much since we are one of the typhoon victims.

It was just another Saturday for me to rest. But that Saturday, September 28 2009 was a weekend to remember. I was woken up my dad around 9:30 AM since he noted that the water in our creek was getting higher and higher. So we packed up some of our clothes ad elevated a few appliances that we have.

It was me, my dad, two of my younger sisters and two of our househelp that were around. But we weren't expecting that the water would rise very high...and very fast. After packing up, turning off the switches(including the main electric switch), sealing plug outlets, elevating appliances we headed to one of our neighbors in a higher place in the same village. But it was quite late.

As noted earlier, the water level was rising very fast. The vehicle that we were riding (a SUV) wasn't able to pass! The current was fast now and the water level is waist deep (and I'm 5'10"!). Because of that, we left the vehicle. I was tasked to bring my siblings and the helpers to safety and we treaded on foot to a neighbor's house. My dad went back to the car and was helped by a few men in the area where we left the car and pushed it to safety to higher ground.

Random Thoughts

Sometimes the hardest thing to admit to ourselves is our stubbornness.

You pretend to listen, but you only hear what others say. You do not appreciate that what they're saying is good for you. You know for yourself that you're wrong but you still hold on to what you believe. Sometimes, it is really hard to let go.

But when you start to listen, appreciate and apply; everything good follows.

The real mature person knows how to let go.

What is your truth? What do you hold dear deep in your soul that you believe? That no matter what other people tell you to do, or follow, you say "no" because you cling to that truth? The ideal that motivates you and keeps you fighting and hoping?

Hold on to that dearly. Let no one take that away.

Gadgets I Gotta Get

Blame it on technology. It seems that at this time and age, you need to "invest" on a few technological gadgets to get you going. As all businesses and households cannot operate without the help of a few devices as men cannot communicate or do some tasks without technology.

Listed here are a few gadgets that I need (actually "I want") to have. Though I have my reasons to have it:

1. Digital Camera - for my business

I have been eying for a digital camera this past few months. Its just that our old digital camera is showing a few signs of aging (like power turning off even after you've fully charged it)...so I'm thinking to replace it soon. After asking a few friends of what brand of cameras I should buy, and checking out reviews in the internet, I found the perfect camera( for me, at least.. ) considering its features, price, quality, longevity and after-service.

The Kodak Easyshare M1093 in Black.

The review from *CNET.com actually made me choose it.

* The bottom line: The Kodak EasyShare M1093 IS is a perfectly capable, inexpensive ultracompact point-and-shoot camera.

2. Laptop - for work and business. And games. And downloads....and the list goes on.

It's the reality. Businesses today thrive on technology. Everything is done online from banking to purchasing. And the internet is the best platform for businesses to be able to market its products. With the help of computers. Again after considering the whole package, I choose...

The Sony VAIO VGN-N385E/B.

Off to Greenhills! ( and the bank! )

If you think that you're miserable, think again. You might have heard the line "Count your Blessings" a million times but only a few people do realize what it means. It does not mean to literally count every little good tangible thing that you have come to possess in this life(but these are blessings too!). It is an outlook. A positive outlook in life, that is. Counting your blessings means that you see all the wonderful miracles that life provided you. A loving family, great friendships, a caring partner or even a stable career! Some people doesn't have access to this things; and guess what, these things that you have is what they yearn for all out their entire life.

So why waste it?

Alone?

For the past weeks, I have been figthing with this feeling inside of me. I don't know. I just feel..alone. It seems like everywhere I go, I feel that way. The people I talk to at the office, the people at home, the people at my Saturday class..everyone. I have received a few text messages to some people but its content seems so superficial. It feels so bad having this drag inside of your, carrying it through out the day, everyday. Sometimes I just want to break down and cry. But it does not lose that feeling. I need a break from this. I need something. Perhaps someone...

"People don't care - I say"

Some say loneliness is a choice. Other say its just a state of mind. But how do I believe that since everyone around you seems to be alright. I envy those people who are so carefree and light, like that they don't care about anything, except happiness.

When will I be truly happy?

Absent! Present Ulit!

It's been a while since I posted an entry here. Let's just say that my mind was very occupied and I wasn't adjusted to it yet. Work was literally frying my mind and making me unhealthy. Late na kasi ako umuuwi. So most of the time, when I go, I just suit up for bed. And sleep. The routine goes on and on everyday. For months mind you. Even my social life has been compromised! I haven't joined any organization or underwent any activity all those days. I just rest and eat. Nakaka-bore na din minsan. But all is about to change. At least, I'm a bit adjusted and I intend to join a few classes by next month. That's why I'm excited.

By June, I'm gonna join a public speaking class in UP-KAL, or perhaps at Trumpets Inc.

And I'm gonna take guitar lessons at Yamaha (or suggest a school for that matter).

Random Thoughts

Why do we want to complicate ourselves? Is it because to make ourselves more interesting to others? Is it because we want others to catch us behind our backs? Is it because of pride? There are things that I do that I don't want to do. There are things that I need to be but I don't want to be...Must we always follow the convention? Do we go straight down the road? Do we walk through life or do we live our lives?

Why do I do this? I don't want to do this!!

1. We've all heard the saying "Nasa huli ang pagsisisi."a million times. But once it becomes applicable to you, it's very blunt. And true. Blame it on my eagerness to explore new things, being carefree and hard headedness. The result? A bad ending that will haunt you for the rest of your life. And sometimes other people are affected too. Nasa huli talaga ang pagsisisi.

1. Have you ever done something in the past that you just stopped doing because of certain reasons? But you actually just want to do it because you can't let that go? I had. I actually did want to finish a certain game that I want to play but since of health reasons, I cannot do it. But now, all seems quite well, I'm trying to do so that I can eventually let it go.

Valkyrie - A Review

Blame it on my fascination of ancient history.

I just have this inconsistent interest in World History that's why I watched this movie. And because of a love interest that is quite blooming. The latter reason is the more important one though. Anyway.

The movie revolves around the story of Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg and his plot of assassinating Adolf Hitler during World War II using Operation Valkyrie.

You can check out this site for the whole synopsis of the film.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0985699/synopsis

Over all, the film was OK but it could not make me applaud. It was quite a letdown for me. It because was expecting a bit more on the story. I was expecting the movie to provide more scenes to the viewers on the "reasons" why they would plan to kill Herr Hitler. As the said in the synopsis, the assassination attempt - the film pretty much delved only on the whole plan on how the conspirators would attempt to kill him. In addition, it was a very straight forward movie. It lacked twist and you know where the story would lead.

But I still enjoyed it.

Perhaps the knowledge I gained that at least someone in the history of man will make a difference and stand with his principles to save his fellow countrymen from a madman and make the world a better place was an eye-opener and served as an inspiration for me.

My Seven Capital Sins

Guess what. Many things just happened on me for the past few days that made me really depressed. It's just few of those days that you feel you're shit. First. A personal bout of losing un-graciously. Magaling naman talaga yung kalaban mo, e niyaya po, pagkatapos ng tatlong ikot, olats. Tapped out. Three times!! In other words, he's a black belter. You're a beginner. Second. Another bout of being inattentive. Ang sabi, ten minutes of CON-DI-TIO-NING, tinanong ko pa, "positioning?" Ayos. Naasar pa ko ng todo. Magaling. But yeah, I just let it pass, let it pass, let it pass....kahit nagiinit na ulo ko nun sa asar. Third. which is related to the second one. Another bout of hot-headedness. Breath in, breath out.....T*&#*@(+!!! F*(& You!!!. Fourth. Another bout of passiveness. You should pay what is due. Not what is circulated about by them! And I didn't do nothing to voice out my sentiment. Fifth. Another bout of carelessness. Ouch. Blood. Sixth. Another bout of closemindedness and insecurity. I don't care no more. What you say, what you do. Just leave me alone! Which leads to the final bout. Selfishness. Its all about me, me and nothing but myself.

1. losing un-graciously
2. inattentive
3. hot-headedness
4. passiveness
5. carelessness
6. closemindedness and insecurity
7. selfishness

My Seven Capital Sins. God forgive my soul.

February 13, 2009 - RX 93.1 Singles Party - Getting my Bar Fix

After much radio listening and series of hesitations for me to go to club, I finally found myself inviting a friend to join me for the RX 93.1 Singles Party in Dolce Bar at Tomas Morato.

Personally, I wasn't very fond of bars since my current health situation does not permit me(but that's another story). But after much pondering, perhaps my dateless situation, I went. Anyhow, I got off work earlier than usual to ready myself.

So there I am waiting at Mcdonald's Quezon Avenue waiting for a friend who will join me. He and his uncle bought a Benz to fetch me there, and we started the night by hanging out first at Danny's Grill at Tomas Morato to grab dinner and starting booze. I drank a bottle of beer for starters. Me and my friend Jon, talked about a plan to pick up ladies later. Around 9:30 PM, we left his uncle at the grillery, and we went to Dolce.

We're not VIP's so we stayed at the line, and guess what, my friend was wearing shorts and bar security prohibited him to enter. I thought this was the end, but when you want something, you just find ways to get it. I told him to trade pants with his uncle. So he did... Problem solved. So we were back on track.

By the way, this party has a twist. They give out glowsticks and baller ID's to define your status. I chose pink which means virgin-al(Go figure! I'm just gonna smile if you ask me "why" or "really"). My friend chose red which means single and searching.

I was wearing a black Hardy shirt (with little crystals) that time para maka-agaw atensyon-ganun daw talaga sa bar. Feeling a little confident, we went inside. Thought I was gonna leave the bar empty handed since it was ages when I went to one. Four, five years tops. I was feeling like a freshman in in a new college...Anyhow, I tried my luck and guess what? I still got it.

So here's the sequential list of the girls and the results:

1. Girls from St. Scholastica Marikina
2. Girls wearing long dresses (with glowing eyes, I don't know)
3. Norita, April and their friends
4. Girl who danced with me near a table
5. Vanessa
5. Gie, Lala and Meemee

I hope you figured out those girls I got the number and those who I just shook hands with, asked theier names and forgot it instantly.

Bars.

This is why I don't like bars. You try to be perky at magpayabang nang konti just to "pick-up" girls. I mean what's the difference you picking up prostitutes? So there I am finding myself sweet-talking the girls to get their numbers and asking them out for a date later.

In addition to this, the host in the persona of Rico Robles gave out Beyonce shirts to those girls who can dance best to the music Single Ladies by Beyonce. To the point of them showing their bras and panties. Fun, yes, but....I don't know. *me shrugs*

Well I guess it turned out good. My friend Jon would want to stay a bit longer but at 2:00 AM in the morning, no more. I need to rest for I have to exercise for tomorrow.

So after paying 300 bucks, drinking 2 bottles of beer, talking to a guy who's giving me a know-how on ladies-at-bars, constant advices from my friend Jon, smooth talking to some girls, watching ladies undo their dresses and guys blowing up condoms, I guess I got my bar fix.

So off to home for another day.

A Movie Date

Ok. So I won a couple of tickets to the advance screening of the movie Valkyrie this coming Tuesday, February 10 at 7:30 PM at the Robinson's Galleria Movieworld.

But the better part of this is I'm going out with a girl that I'm interested in. I'm gonna keep my fingers crossed!

Individuality. One of the things a person can proudly wear and never be ashamed of it. And it dawned on me that sometimes you just have to show who you are to any other person without thinking what they will say. As I was passing Cubao one afternoon, I just saw a couple of characters that really showed their individuality without any inhibitions. I was riding in a jeepney, then there was this group of guy friends, somewhat from the proletariat class, that was having fun since one of them was jokingly wearing a female sleepwear. And they passed it on to one person after the other. And I believe they're not gay. And I thought, wow, this group of people was having genuine fun from something so negligible, but the their laughter was, yeah, genuine! As I went down the jeepney, I passed by an old lady, probably in her 60's wearing full make up. She even has this fashionable bag that seem to match with her somewhat trendy dress. I said to myself, woah, this old woman still believe she's beautiful and young, even though she knows for a fact that her youth faded. And guess what, she doesn't care even if everyone looks at her. But the glow in her eyes says everything. I am beautiful. As was nearing my ride along EDSA, when I saw these two old men in their 50's or 60's, holding hands. I believe its quite obvious that they're gay. But look at that. They don't care! Just like the old woman I aforementioned, whew, they believe that they're partnership will last through time. And even at their age, they still do what they do during their youth.

Lesson learned? Confidence. Individuality. And yeah, that Who-Cares-Attitude! Do what you want to do, as long as you don't hurt other people.

A Short Essay on Christmas

Its the time of the year when the cold winds sweep over Manila, markets are filled with mothers with helpers, buying what they can for their sumptuous Christmas feast, houses decorated with lanterns and lights, mall glittering with ornaments and littered with busy shoppers trying to find the counter that has the shortest queue.

As I was walking the down Cubao one day after work, I can't help but notice the people in their busy yet happy and light stupor, doing what they can to make their season worth remembering.

Some make the most of the season: drink, go out, party and shop. On the other hand, some continue on with their normal lives, unaware of the joys of the season thinking that it is just another day.

But what does Christmas mean?

Then I remembered those days in my childhood, where Christmas is such a joyous and magnificent season. We would do this routine every time its Christmas. We as a family would decorate the house with the little that we have. A short plastic Christmas tree, a wreath, an old Nativity scene set. I would even make a poster! One week before the event, my Dad would buy these boxes of apples and oranges in Divisoria. Then we put up socks near the tree and place the gifts Mom wrapped for everyone. We would go caroling in the neighborhood with our cousins and friends and share the little amount we get, since we go out as large group(fifteen!). The largest, I remembered we got is 20 pesos each. We would go to the marketplace, the houses of our friends and wherever we can go around he area! Then Christmas Eve, me and siblings would find it hard trying to sleep since the excitement keeps you awake. I think I remembered one of us cried because he or she can't go to sleep! But eventually we slept, and awakened by our parents for the gift opening! And the real fun begins next day, Christmas Day. All our relatives from both sides of the family will come visit us at our home then we hand them out their gifts and aguinaldo. The apples and oranges we bought earlier the week were handed down to them as well. Each kid and each adult were given one.

Sharing is one thing I learned from our family tradition.

Then after a couple of years, from receiving gifts, you're the one whose giving.
This year I've bought a little something for my family. A shirt and tie set for my brothers, a perfume for my sister and a bank account for our bunso. I'll treat my parents for a spa treatment and our "ates" in house, I handed a few hundred bucks.
It's not much compared to those expensive gifts others give but, I say, the value of sharing is still one gift a person can give to another.

God himself gave his own Son to us for our redemption!
